Fine Presents to Glass Collectors on Legacy Gifting
On September 9, 2017, Attorney Roy Fine presented to glass art collectors, artists, and glass scholars from around the country at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass symposium entitled “Searching for Excellence: Leaving a Legacy.” Roy spoke on the topic of “Estate Planning for Glass Collectors,” in which he defined bequests vs. gifts, detailed legal processes for bequests to museums, and explained the importance of planning for your glass collections to reduce tax implications. Roy’s presentation was part of a weekend-long event for the Arts Alliance for Contemporary Glass.
