As an immigration paralegal, Nicole Nelson assists Murphy Desmond’s immigration attorneys and clients with preparing draft documents, obtaining appropriate paperwork, communicating with clients, and completing various responsibilities related to family, employment, and individual-based U.S. immigration matters.

Nicole, who is proficient in Spanish, works with clients throughout the immigration and naturalization (citizenship) process. Under the direct supervision of immigration practice leader, Attorney Glorily A. Lopez, Nicole diligently obtains relevant evidence, maintains client files, and handles client-related research. Nicole’s roles include an emphasis on meeting client deadlines, completing drafts of appropriate immigration forms and supporting documents, and communicating status updates to the attorneys and clients.

Previously an educator in a public-school bilingual education program, Nicole worked closely with Spanish-speaking children and families, many of whom were affected by U.S. immigration laws.
