As the Business & Finance Director at Murphy Desmond, Mindy Walker oversees financial management, salary and benefits administration, and operations management including IT services.

Mindy handles budget forecasting and reporting, maintenance of banking relationships, payroll management, and year-end tax reporting. Her salary and benefits responsibilities include payroll, employee insurance plans, working with retirement planning and benefit consultants, and assisting with the employee handbook. Within operations, Mindy oversees IT strategies and software updates as well as disaster response plans.

Prior to joining Murphy Desmond, Mindy worked for a health insurer and large public accounting firm where she oversaw operations within the auditing function focusing on compliance and process improvement within operations, finance, and IT. Mindy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Chartered Global Management Accountant, and a member of several professional organizations.

Mindy is actively involved in the community where she currently serves on the Finance Committee of Wisconsin Early Childhood Association and the Audit Committee of Access Community Health Centers. She formerly served as a board member and treasurer for Opera for the Young and the LPGA Amateur Golf Association–Madison Chapter (formerly Executive Women’s Golf Association).
